Cultivating business and skills
to reach the top

Cima Technology Center is a Latino Development and Business Accelerator Center managed
by Battelle and Wright College's Humboldt Park Vocational Education Center.

Cima as a Workforce Training Center

By training Humboldt Park residents for high-tech jobs, Cima intends to strengthen both the community and its local businesses. The workforce training program is focused so that the skills individuals gain can be immediately applied to jobs within the companies we are accelerating. But we see the training we provide as the beginning of a life-long process of business skill development.

Services

Our program involves two stages:

  • Individuals receive intensive, targeted classroom and lab training in the selected technology area.
  • Individuals take the knowledge and skills they gain and apply them through internship programs at our accelerated companies.

After graduating from the training program, students will have acquired the skills necessary to be employed by companies within the selected technology area. Our graduates will have better opportunities to receive higher-paying jobs. Also, they will be prepared to pursue further educational opportunities or to enter into entrepreneurship themselves.
